In other words, the two views look different because FastStone is showing you the JPG generated by the camera ( which is embedded in the RAW file ), whereas ACR is converting the RAW image using it's own settings, which are different from those on the camera ( and the conversion algorithms are different ).Īn easy way to verify this - set your camera to "vivid" or some other extreme settings. I don't think any RAW processors ( except PDCU ) would know what to do with the camera settings that are stored in the RAW file. With a RAW processor like ACR, you will see the RAW file converted according to the settings within that program. So if you have saturation colour/saturation/contrast boosted on your camera, that's what you will see when you view the RAW file ( because FastStone is NOT converting the RAW file, it is just showing you the JPG that the camera embedded into the RAW file, which will be adjusted according to the settings that were on the camera ).
Therefore, what it looks like will depend on the settings that were on the camera at the time that you took the photo.
Hi Friends,i always shot in raw and postproduction with photoshop cs6.The trouble is while viewing picture with faststone everything is what i shot(color, saturation contrast) but when i open that picture with camera raw i lose some color saturations and contrast.is there a way to fix it in photoshop?By default, I believe that FastStone displays the embedded JPG from the RAW file.
